Justice League Promo Teases Flash’s Origins

The DC Extended Universe moved ahead and introduced almost the entire Justice League with its second movie, but the only origin story it had presented before that was Superman’s. Then Batman's origin was revealed in a flashback during Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and we learned about Wonder Woman's in 2017.

Zack Snyder's second DCEU film also presented the origin of Cyborg, although saying that it was incomplete is a major understatement (trailers teased that Justice League will present his full story via flashbacks). It remains to be seen whether Aquaman and Flash will receive the same treatment.

He’ll certainly want to know where Flash’s powers originated. (Warner Bros.)

There’s some evidence that Flash's origin may be explored in Justice League. The most recent promo shows how the superhero's powers work (pretty exciting) and where they came from:

After an electrical storm, Barry Allen was never the same.

The CW show The Flash has provided the larger audience with more information on the character’s origins than they might have about other superheroes, including Cyborg and Aquaman. However, that doesn't mean that the movie should ignore Flash’s backstory.

If Justice League does tease Flash’s origins (Batman must be curious about how his powers came to be), Barry Allen's full backstory will be featured in his solo movie, Flashpoint. Similar to Aquaman, the hero already exists, and the movie will fill in the blanks.

Justice League will be released on November 17, 2017.
