Is John Boyega Up for a Role in Black Panther’s Movie?

It seems like John Boyega is in talks to join Black Panther movie!

Black Panther’s movie, starring Chadwick Boseman, might not be arriving in theaters before February 16, 2018, but it's definitely aiming to kick off filming at the very beginning of 2017. We can be sure about this not only because Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige said so, but also because it has already started its casting process.

The eighteenth Marvel Cinematic Universe installment has already added Creed star Michael B. Jordan to its cast roster. Academy Award winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is reportedly in talks to join Black Panther, too.

And it seems like Lupita's Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-star John Boyega is also up for a role in the movie. According to Best of Marvel on Twitter, the British actor posted a photo labeled "Meeting" to his Snapchat account recently. Then, a few minutes later, Feige started following him on Twitter.

That might have looked like mere coincidence if we hadn't come across a recent Heroic Hollywood post that covered an interview of Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. In that post, the correspondent reveals that "hot, unconfirmed scuttlebutt" has it that Boyega is in talks with the studio to join the movie.

This is obviously not the strongest of rumors, but there are certain reasons to think that it makes sense. First of all, in 2014, John Boyega revealed that he was "aiming for" a Marvel movie role. He also teased Black Panther. Check out this Screen Rant article to delve more deeply.

Again, Kevin Feige recently announced that Black Panther's cast roster will feature 90 percent African or African-American actors. So, more black actors will be required to join Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o and fill all of the major roles in the movie.

And since John Boyega is already a member of the Disney family, it is quite possible that he can find some space in both the Star Wars and Marvel rooms of the same house.
