Set for release next year, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II is a safe bet for Marvel. After the first part surprised everybody and exceeded all expectations (both among the critics and at the box office), James Gunn, Star-Lord, and Co. will return once again - this time with even more awesome action! Sure - the marketing campaign hasn't kicked in just yet. However, knowing Marvel, when it does begin we will only hear and see Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II.
The first teaser trailer was released back in October, but it didn't reveal anything - whether we are talking about plot or about new characters (though it is safe to say that we did see the inside of Kurt Russell's Ego). Now, according to James Gunn, we shouldn't expect anything different from the future clips that are waiting to be released during the marketing campaign.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director said that the next clip has already been completed and that it should arrive soon. He didn't say exactly when it will be released, but we can assume that it will be this month (there are quite a few big movies in front of which the trailer could be screened, including Disney's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).
Even more, the director also said that he and the powers that be won't reveal anything of great importance during the months before the movie's release. Which is great, of course - after all, surprises such as Falcon's cameo in Ant-Man or Giant-Man's appearance during the Civil War should be kept secret.
So hopefully James Gunn will keep his word. We wouldn't mind seeing Ego and Mantis in the clips promoting the movie, of course. But maybe that should be all that’s revealed.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II will be released on the 5th of May 2017.
