Guardians of the Galaxy 2: First Look at Russell as Ego

A new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 will launch during the coming week, and we can hardly wait to see and hear what James Gunn and Marvel have in store for us. Which characters will be front and center in the new clip? What new tracks will be featured? More importantly, will we catch a glimpse of characters we haven't seen yet?

Of course, in the latter case, we’re talking about Kurt Russell's character, the human side of Ego the Living Planet. We still don't know how the legendary actor will look or sound in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (we do know that he’ll be awesome). But we did recently see the Funko Pop version of the character:

Right now, we have the first promotional still of Kurt Russell as Ego, via Comic Book. It's not much, but he does resemble the Funko Pop version. Check it out below!

Of course, many of the comic book character’s fans hope that Ego will appear as a planet in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. Despite some rumors about fights taking place on Ego, we’ve had no official confirmation of that.

So, could this week’s new trailer show us Ego in both of his forms? That would be quite a surprise.

Maybe we’ll also see more of Ayesha, the film’s main antagonist, as well as more of the Sovereign people. After all, this could be the window through which Adam Warlock is introduced in the MCU.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 will be released on the 5th of May.
