New Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Action Figure Offers Best Look Yet at Kurt Russell's Ego!

First look at action figure for Kurt Russell's Ego from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 revealed!

We’ve seen numerous Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailers, commercials, and photos, but we haven't caught a glimpse of Kurt Russell's Ego the Living Planet in any of the promotional materials. A costume exhibited at last year's San Diego Comic-Con International and a couple of Funko toys did give us a rough idea of how the character will look in the upcoming James Gunn flick.

However, a new action figure unveiled at the recent Toy Fair New York is the best representation of Russell's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 character to date. An image showing the Ego action figure, along with a Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) action figure, has already surfaced online. Check out the image below (via Comic Book Movie):

Of course, we’ve known from the beginning that Ego won't appear in planetary form – as seen in the comics – in the May 5, 2017 release. Rather, he'll show up in a humanoid form. But the action figure, like the Funko toys, shows that the character will sport a grizzled beard – a look that suits the 65-year-old Russell.

Whether any of the upcoming promotional materials offers the first look at Kurt Russell's Ego, or we’ll have to wait until the  fifteenth Marvel Cinematic Universe installment rolls into theaters remains to be seen.

Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
