CIVIL WAR Concept Art Revealed Featuring BLACK PANTHER

Marvel concept artist and illustrator Andy Park has been taking to social media this week to reveal alternative designs for Black Panther’s sleek, sinister look in “Captain America: Civil War.”

Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, made his MCU debut in this year’s Captain America installment. He assumes his new identity following the death of his father, the sovereign ruler of the African kingdom of Wakanda. It becomes his mission to avenge his father’s death and destroy the Winter Soldier, and he sides with Iron Man along with the film’s big surprise guest, Spider-Man.

With the digital HD release of “Civil War” coming up on September 2, and the DVD and Blu-ray release on September 13, Park has been sharing concept art he created for the film on his Twitter and Instagram accounts for the past few weeks. He shared this image Monday:

The image features an earlier idea for Black Panther’s costume, which features a tribal design emphasizing the character’s origins.

And yesterday, Park added another vision for Black Panther, which he described as “a hi-tech sleeker look.”

A third Black Panther post from today shows the character with a sharper and more menacing appearance, which Park identifies as his favorite of the bunch:

Black Panther’s long-awaited film appearance was a big hit with Marvel fans, and Boseman will be starring in a standalone Black Panther feature as well. Its release is currently set for February 16, 2018.
