Charlie Cox Confirms Iron Fist Will Be Costumed In The Defenders!

Charlie Cox confirms that Iron Fist will have costume in The Defenders like his Daredevil!

Finn Jones' Iron Fist is the fourth and last superhero to get his standalone series on Netflix before Marvel's The Defenders arrives. And he's the only one we haven't seen yet; we saw Daredevil in the first two seasons of his standalone series and we saw Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in the Jessica Jones standalone series.

We have watched a teaser trailer for Marvel's Iron Fist which offered our first look at Danny Rand but he wasn't wearing his superhero costume. However, it appears that The Living Weapon will get his costume by the end of his standalone series. It seems so because it has been confirmed for the first time that we will see him as a costumed superhero in The Defenders.

Daredevil star Charlie Cox provides the confirmation while speaking at a Wizard Con Chicago panel (via MCU Exchange). According to the actor, his and Finn Jones' characters will have costumes unlike the other two members of The Defenders, Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Kristen Ritter's Jessica Jones.

Cox also reveals that Matt Murdock is slightly older than Danny in the series - while the former is in his thirties, the latter is around twenty-five years old.

The panel was also attended by Rosario Dawson, Elodie Yung, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson. You can check out the entire panel below.

Charlie Cox recently said that the teamwork lessons learned by Matt in The Defenders will carry over to Daredevil Season 3. But it seems as though he and other superheroes won't learn those lessons right away at the beginning of the crossover miniseries.

During a recent interview with Slash Film, The Defenders showrunners are asked if they will be spending time in exploring the fact that the superheroes don't immediately get along. Here's how Doug Petrie responds:

You have time over the many episodes, exactly, to spread out the characters, let them breathe, let them expand and let them get to know each other, so they don't have to love each other right away, but we'll love them by the end.

Marco Ramirez, the other showrunner, agrees with Petrie, and adds:

I really think what the focus of these shows and what makes a show like Daredevil and a show like (Jessica Jones) and I've seen Luke (Cage), it's fantastic, is that they're really sophisticated character stories. So I think the thing that excites us the most going into The Defenders and writing these scripts is just to tell character stories and interaction between them, watch them bump up against each other.

The showrunners don't give away any spoiler-y details on the 2017 series during the lengthy interview. However, at one point, when they’re asked about the possibility of Matt doing some lawyering in The Defenders, Petrie says:

Always. Always. Always. It's what he is. Is there room for Catholicism? Is there room for angst? Is there room for heartbreak? Is there room for violence? Yes, all these things.

Petrie adds that "nothing's going on the back burner", and Matt, Jessica, Luke and Danny are "bringing all their A games" to The Defenders!
