Ben Affleck: Playing Batman is a “Boyhood Dream Come True”!

We’ve been hearing rumors that Ben Affleck plans to withdraw from The Batman for months. The actor has debunked the rumors more than once, and he expressed how much the character meant to him in the latest issue of Geek Magazine.

Affleck said that he dreamed of playing the Caped Crusader as a child, and being able to portray the character in Justice League has taken the thrill to a whole new level (via ScreenRant):

Playing Batman was a boyhood dream come true for me, so playing Batman alongside the Justice League? I mean, what can you say?

Affleck recalled how exciting it was for him and the other leads when they all assembled on the set in their superhero costumes. He added that as they looked around at each other, it was clearly visible that moment was a “big” one for all concerned.

The actor went on to say that Batman was more motivated than his Justice League colleagues, who were all enhanced entities (via ScreenRant):

I think Bruce is in a unique place to be able to appreciate what these metahumans can do - to a certain extent, he can do some of that too - but to also understand, unlike the others, how much work goes into his ability to be Batman. Every iteration of Batman has explored the history behind his becoming this vigilante, so maybe he’s the most motivated of the group, in a way.

Affleck mentioned that his character used his substantial House Wayne fortune to provide appropriate transportation for the superhero team. And speaking of transportation, check out these new behind-the-scenes photos of Bruce Wayne’s cool Mercedes-Benz, along with Bruce, Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) (via Batman-News)!
