Ben Affleck on the True Power of the Mother Boxes

With Justice League so close to its debut, we’re seeing more and more details about the film. Here’s the latest news, but don't worry, it’s not a huge spoiler. However, it does reveal the true power of the Mother Boxes and why Steppenwolf is after them.

We already know that the Men, the Amazons, and the Atlanteans each possess one of these powerful artifacts. But the Mother Boxes’ actual role in the movie has been kept under wraps, and all we really know is that they’re extremely powerful and capable of bringing Darkseid's armies to Earth.

After all, Darkseid/Steppenwolf must have had another means of reaching Earth besides the Mother Boxes. If not, and there were only three Boxes, how did the villain reach the planet to battle the Justice League?

Steppenwolf and the Mother Boxes (Warner Bros.)

Ben Affleck revealed that each Mother Box is very powerful, but when they’re brought together, they become the Unity, an artifact of such pure power that it can conquer any world:

A Mother Box is an all-powerful, indestructible, technological cube that can also teleport a bunch of aliens to Earth from another world. Once you combine the three Mother Boxes, they form what’s called the Unity, a force that is pure power used to conquer worlds. Fortunately, these things don’t exist in real life, of course. But they’re a part of the DC Universe, and a problem for the Justice League (via CBM).

We assume that Steppenwolf was sent back to Earth to retrieve and unite all of the Mother Boxes to help his commander conquer any world he desires.

We’re really glad they don't exist in the real world!

Justice League will be in theaters on November 17!
