Cast for Batman V Superman's Martha Wayne role confirmed!

We already know that Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be playing Thomas Wayne in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. We saw him first in the Comic Con trailer. Previously we saw the actor in another of Zack Snyder's superhero movie - he played The Comedian in Watchmen. The actor is set to play Negan in AMC series The Walking Dead.

But who would play his wife, Martha Wayne, in Batman V Superman? We finally have the answer! It's his The Walking Dead co-star Lauren Cohan! Entertainment Weekly first came up with the confirmation that the actress would play the deceased mother of Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne. Then, the Maggie Greene cast re-confirmed it by retweeting the news via her official Twitter account!

Lauren is also known for her recurring roles on The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Chuck.

Well, the roles of Thomas and Martha Wayne are almost always cameos. But we are not sure about how they are going to deal with Batman‘s origin in the upcoming March 25 release. However, it's not a Batman standalone movie - so, it seems like Jeffrey and Lauren won't get much of a screen time.

Batman V Superman Addresses Destruction in Man of Steel!

Zack Snyder

Zack Snyder talks Batman V Superman and Man of Steel!

The latest issue of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine features an interview of Zack Snyder. The director defended the destruction in Man of Steel in the interview. He stated:

"I stand by it, because for me, I've always said when I was working on WATCHMEN "” and maybe it's sort of left over from a WATCHMEN philosophical sort of thing "” that there should be consequences to superheroes' interaction with the earth.

Snyder claimed that they approached the first DC Extended Universe flick in that way and he wanted "˜a big consequence to Superman's arrival' on our planet. He further added:

"Certainly, BATMAN v SUPERMAN sort of cashes in all its chips on the "˜why' of that destruction.

The director also commented that the "˜discovery' of the upcoming movie's story is that the Bat of Gotham fights the Son of Krypton. And he suggested that it can happen "˜in a credible and interesting way'. He explained:

"It's just incredibly satisfying and fun to dig into these two mythological characters and find a through line that allows them to come into conflict in a way that not only is philosophically satisfying, but also physically real.

About Ben Affleck's character in Batman V Superman, Zack Snyder said:

"He's not yet tired of his place in the world. He's definitely still tooth-and-nailing it.

Well, the cover of the magazine features a new look at the cinematic version of DC's Trinity. Check it out below!
