Batman Standalone Movie to Arrive in “A Year And A Half”?

Time Warner CEO may have revealed when the Batman standalone movie will arrive!

We recently came across a report about what Time Warner chairman-CEO Jeff Bewkes said in regard to the DC Extended Universe while speaking at Goldman Sachs' Communacopia investor conference. But it appears that the website that originally reported it actually failed to deliver to us what is perhaps the most noteworthy piece of information that he shared.

Thanks to The Suicide Squadcast, we now have the full audio of Bewkes' statement, which includes the significant missing part. The CEO offered this update on the untitled Batman standalone movie:

Ben (Affleck) announced a Batman movie (that) he's going to direct, star, write for – I think it's a year and a half out.

A year and a half out! Does that mean that we are going to watch this movie on the big screen sometime between February and March 2018? I'm pretty sure that's what most of us would like it to mean. But if the Batman standalone movie rolls into the theaters in that part of 2018, when would The Flash arrive?

While the Rick Famuyiwa venture is still slated to be released on March 16, 2018, we have been expecting it to be moved back or forward. This is because the Alicia Vikander starrer, the Tomb Raider reboot (another Warner Bros. project), has been provided with the same release date. Now, with the Batman standalone movie thrown into the mix, it has become even more confusing.

But this could also mean something else entirely. What if Jeff Bewkes were referring to the time frame of when the movie kicks off or wraps up production? We have two untitled DCEU installments scheduled for October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019 release.

While expecting to move into post-production by March 2018 seems reasonable for the first untitled movie, aiming to begin filming by that particular time frame also sounds realistic for the second one.
