Since it’s now official that Ben Affleck will write, direct, and star in the first DCEU Batman movie, and since the seeds were sown during Batman v Superman, can we expect to see the adaptation of the Under the Hood storyline? This has been a rumor ever since the pic with the Robin suit from BvS was released - that writing on it literally spelled adaptation.

But it isn't as if Warner Bros. is keen on doing fan-service. The most recent reports say that Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns will have full creative control over the first Batman film. Which is good, since Affleck has proven himself as both a writer and a director. However, the same reports say that we can’t expect an Under the Red Hood adaptation anytime soon.

According to Birth. Movies. Death., the first Batman film will establish the DCEU character in a big way. And that means that it will feature multiple villains from the Dark Knight's rogues gallery. According to the website, the idea is to cement this version of the Caped Crusader as the ultimate.

And it makes sense - how many Batman comic books have you seen featuring just a single villain?

Ben Affleck is writing the script with Geoff Johns. However, in this duo, Affleck is the one pulling all the strings, with Johns serving as a consultant. Which makes sense - the actor/writer/director is more than capable of bringing a beautiful script to life, while the comic book writer will provide the much-needed comic book references.

So, even if we have to wait a bit longer for Under the Red Hood to arrive, in the end, we’ll have a kick-ass first Dark Knight film.
