Aquaman: Warner Bros Pushes Back Release Date

Aquaman

Among the characters listed on the announced Justice League movie roster, Aquaman seems to be the most divisive superhero of them all. Leaving aside the murderous Batman and the one-tone Superman, there are quite a few people who believe that Jason Momoa cannot pull off a believable Aquaman. Maybe it’s all about his looks, or maybe it’s all about his acting skills - but this version of the superhero doesn't appeal.

So these fans of the character may not be so surprised to hear that James Wan's Aquaman was pushed back a couple of months by the studio. Originally scheduled to be released on the 27th of July 2018 (and thus going up against MI 6 - Mission Impossible), the movie now has a new release date.

Aquaman’s new release date is the 5th of October (via CBM), a spot already announced by Warner Bros. for an untitled DC movie. And October may be a better month for Aquaman to be released, since at this point the only competition we’re aware of is Andy Serkis' Jungle Book (which starts on the 19th of the month).

So what does that mean? Should we expect another DC movie to take the July slot vacated by Aquaman? It’s possible.

The fans shouldn't be worried, though. James Wan has already started scouting movie locations, and quite a few Justice League actors will reprise their roles (actors such as Amber Heard as Mera and Willem Dafoe as Vulko). So the chances of the movie being canceled are actually nonexistent.

Nonetheless, it’s very obvious that Warner Bros. hasn't decided just yet what it wants to do with the DC shared universe.

Hey - maybe The Batman will be released in July 2018"¦
